Job description
Join a leading Healthcare organisation in the Unites Arab Emirates as the Director of Supply Chain Management.
The Director of Supply Chain Management will lead the Supply Chain Management activities for all Inbound & Outbound Logistics, Shipping Departments, Procurement, Biomedical R&M and the newly formed Retail Pharmacy outlets.
The Director is responsible for accurate and timely processing of all products throughout the supply chain and the documentation of product flow for all serviced divisions. This role ensures continuous improvement through pro-active leadership and development of direct reports and is responsible for running a cost effective operation staying within budgetary guidelines, while building new business opportunities.
Key responsibilities:
Responsible for the developing, documenting, and executing a global comprehensive logistics and distribution strategic plan which will drive optimal customer service and profitability.
Manage and optimise a global supply chain logistics network with multiple distribution centres.
Ensure all regulatory and compliance measures are met within global guidelines.
Identify and implement best in class WMS technology, infrastructure suitable to the scope and size of the business along with disciplines that underlie a supply chain operation.
Develop global implementation of distribution best practices such as systems integration and optimisation, inventory control, demand planning, and SKU optimisation.
Drive operational excellence and best practices across the network reducing cost.
Coordinating and controlling the order cycle and associated information systems.
Allocating and managing staff resources according to changing needs.
Liaising and negotiating with customers and suppliers.
Developing business by gaining new contracts, analysing logistical problems and producing new solutions.
Who we are looking for
University degree in Business/related field.
Certifications (CPM, APICS or similar) preferred.
Knowledge or certifications in Six Sigma, Lean or other is plus.
Supply chain management experience in progressively senior positions, operations experience an asset.
Demonstrated ability of managing cost performance, supply/demand forecasting & distribution execution across a variety of product lines from multiple sources.
Capacity to build relationships internally & externally.
Strong analytical, financial & P&L skill required to succeed.
Ability to transform current business model to a supply chain machine: building end to end supply chains.
In depth knowledge of key supply chain/logistics processes & current best practices.
Solid judgment to know what is appropriate for the company size/scope.
Ability to quickly establish credibility across organisation/engage others to ensure the most effective efficient logistics solutions for the varied business units.
Flexibility to seek & incorporate input from others into the plan/solid track record for effectively managing/developing a team.
Demonstrated experience in creating/upgrading the distribution function in an organisation of similar size and scope.
Experience in supply chain technology/processes such as SAP, Oracle, JIT, ERP.
Ability to travel.
